In April 2020 Omaze launched a property competition to win a million pound house in Cheadle Hulme, Cheshire. The company are more well known overseas for running pay to enter prize draws that offer money can't buy experiences. Surprisingly they've decided to launch a second competition before the first has completed. The prize this time around is worth a lot more money, but the format for entrants is pretty much the same. The key difference with Omaze versus other property competitions is that they guarantee there will be a winner. Given how some UK raffles fair that's a really big risk!

How To Enter

The prize on offer is a Fulham townhouse with three double bedrooms and four bathrooms. It's valued at 3million and comes with a self contained office and home-gym. Take a look at the pictures of the home on the Omaze website as it looks pretty incredible. However note that if you win then you don't get the home furnishings, artwork, and merchandise shown in the images. However the 25,000 chandilier may be included although it's hard to find out these details from the Omaze website. Stamp duty and conveyancing costs will be covered plus 10,000 for first year running costs.

Tickets for the competition cost 10 for 15 entries. Unfortunately you can't purchase less than 10 worth of tickets. Other ticket packages cost 25 (40 entries), 50 (85 entries) and 150 (320 entries). For a free entry you can send a postcard or envelope to the address given on the website. This is worth doing as "once a postal entry has been processed it will be entered in to the next available draw and all subsequent draws until the final Grand Prize drawing". Confusingly the terms state you can make one entry via the free entry route and then says that there is "no limit to the number of entries" made that way!

Guaranteed Prizes

As we mentioned in the first competition, we think that it's worth entering this Omaze competition as the prize is guaranteed even if not enough tickets are sold. This means there will be a home winner and no competition extensions. Additionally there are early bird entry prizes on offer and the chance to win weekly cash prizes. For example enter before January 1st 2020 and you could win an F-Type Jaguar. In terms of good causes, The British Heart Foundation will also benefit from a minimum donation of 100,000 even if insufficient tickets are sold. However Omaze are hoping that this competition will result in a donation of 500,000. Note that the competition is open to UK residents only.

We're very surprised that Omaze have launched a second win a house competition in The UK before the first one has completed. Even more so when the second competition is identical to the first in format. This suggests to us that the first has been successful or that Omaze are being blinkered with their approach to home prize draws here in The UK. Not that this should deter you from entering. The NPN route could well be an option for many as the 10 entry fee is high, but with a guaranteed house prize worth 3million it might be worth a punt. The various weekly and early bird prize draws also shouldn't be overlooked.
