Just when we thought that they'd be no more UK property prize draws in 2022 up pops Omaze and fits one in for us. This time they've decided to head back to The Lake District to offer up a five bedroom property. The draw is imaginatively called The Lake District II and before anyone wonders it's not the same one as before. The exact location isn't given (although we suspect it won't be too long before it's known) but Omaze do say that it's within easy reach of Bowness - as was the first property. Omaze say that the farmhouse style property is worth £2.5million. Interestingly if you are the winner of this prize then you'll also receive "a caution title in respect of manorial, mineral, and other rights which have been reserved to the Lord of the Manor".

About The Property

The farmhouse style property boasts five bedrooms in the main property although one of these could be an office according to the floor plan. On the ground floor is a large lounge adjoining a garden room plus a sizeable kitchen/dining room complete with pantry. The property also boasts a seperate annex with kitchen/dining room and bedroom plus there's another building which houses a shed, stable and garage. Omaze suggest that the property could make an ideal rental and suggests that it could earn up to £3000 a month. One thing to remember is that big houses cost big money to run and again Omaze don't provide information regarding general costs such as council taxes etc. Having a millionaire's house is fine provided you can afford to own it! A £100,000 cash prize will be included though to help you settle in or hang on to it long enough to sell.

How To Enter The Competition

Tickets for the competition cost £10 for 15 entries. Unfortunately you can't purchase less than £10 worth of tickets. Other ticket packages cost £25 (40 entries), £50 (85 entries) and £150 (320 entries). For a free entry you can send a postcard or envelope to the address given on the website. This is worth doing as "once a postal entry has been processed it will be entered in to the next available draw and all subsequent draws until the final Grand Prize drawing". Confusingly the terms state you can make one entry via the free entry route and then says that there is "no limit to the number of entries" made that way!

Guaranteed Prizes

As we mentioned in the other competitions, we think that it's worth entering this Omaze competition as the prize is guaranteed even if not enough tickets are sold. This means there will be a home winner and no competition extensions. Additionally there are early bird entry prizes on offer and the chance to win weekly cash prizes. For example enter before November 10th 2022 and you could win a Porsche Cayenne. There's also a weekly £1000 cash prize draw for entrants. In terms of good causes, The Dog's Trust will also benefit from ticket sales. Omaze has guaranteed a minimum total payment of £100,000 for the charity. Note that the competition is open to UK residents only.

Our Verdict

We didn't expect Omaze to add another UK property until perhaps December so this is a welcome antidote to the influx of overseas house competitions that have launched lately. The farmhouse looks lovely - and Omaze have made sure that it's going to appeal to entrants by putting in a few Christmas touches. Now if only they made it easy to purchase a ticket as a gift or Secret Santa - wouldn't that be a clever marketing idea? As the prize draw is guaranteed it makes sense to give this one a go either via online purchase or the postal route. It'll be interesting to see what details about the farmhouse our win a house community uncovers. Do keep an eye on the comments for any information or discussion relevant to this prize draw.
