Prestbury is our next destination with Omaze and a five bedroom property and it didn't take too long in locating the home. It's been a recent listing on Rightmove and can be found in the so called Cheshire Golden Triangle. The Rightmove listing shows that it was up for sale in September 2023 and was on the market for £3.5million. A post on Twitter/X shows the property was for sale in 2020 for under £3million. It also suggests that the house is called Fern Gully. We did find another listing for a Fern Gully that was a dormer bungalow so we're wondering whether this new luxury home was built in it's place? Anyway we're guessing Omaze possibly snapped it up a little bit cheaper given that they're adding cash and furnishings into the mix. According to the map, the property is in Prestbury Village and not far from the train station. Follow street view down Prestbury Lane and you'll locate the property on the right side. An expanse of fields are opposite and it looks quite an idyllic setting.

About The Property

The property in Cheshire comprises of five bedrooms, all of which are on the first floor and off a galleried landing. The main bedroom has an en-suite and a dressing room that appears to be larger than some of the other bedrooms. A den is accessible on the top floor. Downstairs is a large kitchen/dining space plus living area. These are joined by a gym, cinema room, study and a bonus room that's squeezed in between the kitchen and utility area! The utility area also leads on to a large double garage. All the main downstairs living spaces look out on to a huge patio and we think all have bifold doors to really open up the space during warm weather. A £100,000 cash prize will be included though to help you settle in, pay the window cleaner and gardeners, or hang on to it long enough to sell. All furnishings are included. If you win and are thinking about rental opportunities then Omaze suggests that you can realise between £15,000 and £25,000 per month (wow).

How To Enter The Competition

To enter the prize draw you simply need to purchase tickets. Tickets for the competition cost £10 for 15 entries. Unfortunately you can't purchase less than £10 worth of tickets. Other ticket packages cost £25 (40 entries), £50 (85 entries) and £150 (320 entries). A recent new option is the subscription service. Pay £10 a month for 30 entries. Do check the terms before siging up for this! For a free entry you can send a postcard or envelope to the address given on the website. This is worth doing as "once a postal entry has been processed it will be entered in to the next available draw and all subsequent draws until the final Grand Prize drawing". Postal entries have an equal chance of winning as any one paid entry. If a postal entry wins a prize there will be no further purchase or payment necessary to be notified of the win or to receive the prize.

Guaranteed Prizes

As we mentioned in the other competitions, we think that it's worth entering this Omaze competition as the prize is guaranteed even if not enough tickets are sold. This means there will be a home winner and no competition extensions. Additionally there are early bird entry prizes on offer and the chance to win weekly cash prizes. For example enter before 14th April 2024 and you could win a Range Rover Velar. Gift vouchers are also being given away in Big Dreamer giveaways that will also take place during the promotion. In terms of good causes, The Bowelbabe Fund for Cancer Research. will also benefit from ticket sales. Omaze has guaranteed a minimum total payment of £1million for the charity - we think that this is much higher than previous draws? Note that the competition is open to UK residents only.

Our Verdict

There's not much to say about this property so we're going to have a little vent about Omaze. We are an affliate of Omaze and they keep asking what they can do to help. We've asked for PR info on new competitions and winners that the press get. Yes we can do that they say but we still don't get it. We've mentioned that there are multiple discounts and offers that we don't get so visitors will seek them out and not use our link. We've questioned whether the affiliate link actually tracks. Unfortunately although we're probably the only site with a database of win a house competitions, reviews etc. we're also a lowly cog in the Omaze machine. Anyway we'll keep ticking along but it's frustrating giving feedback to a company who's only response is asking for more feedback time and time again. Nice property though! Enter Competition Here
