Win a house competitions are usually the domain for grand "lifestyle" properties. However following recent successes, including the first Raffall house raffle, the mechanic can been adopted for smaller properties that are ideal for people aiming to get a first foot on the property ladder. Lauren Turnbull is hoping that her semi-detached home somewhere in Newcastle plus the addition of the car will bring in interested entrants. The problem here though is that we don't know whereabouts in Newcastle the property is located!

How To Enter The Competition

What we do know is that this is a 2 bedroom semi with a family bathroom upstairs. Downstairs is a kitchen with high gloss white cupboards and a living room that has been recently decorated with a feature wall. Additionally the property comes with a very large west-facing back garden. The car is the Range Rover Evoque Dynamic model and has 43,000 miles on the clock. The promoter doesn't give any details as to why she's aiming to sell the home and car.

To enter the raffle you need to be registered with Raffall. This can be done via Facebook or email login. Once at the house raffle page it's a case of answering a question and purchasing tickets. The question pops up in a window which we found disappeared very quickly. Tickets only cost £1 and there's no limit to the number you can purchase. You can purchase online using debit cards. As far as we're aware this property competition is not making any donations to charity.

200,000 Ticket Sales

Turnbull hopes to sell 200,000 tickets (total revenue £200,000) before the end of November in order to conclude the draw. If insufficient tickets are sold then the winners will receive a share of the compensation amounting to 75% of all ticket sales. All compensation payments are guaranteed and paid directly by Raffall Limited. This is a little bit different to house competitions run by individuals and should offer more assurance to entrants. The fact that the previous competition concluded within 4 weeks may also encourage entries.

This kind of property is a real test for the home raffle mechanic and Raffall platform. In the past competitions for cheaper properties have failed but if this one works then it could mean that house raffles will no longer be just for big lifestyle homes. There are issues though. Location again is missing as is a valuation of both home and car. Details of the sales process is given but we'd still like a bit more documentation as you see on the individual property sites.
