Rose Jones is using Raffall to giveaway her three bedroom townhouse in Waterford. This isn't the first house raffle for an Irish property but it is the first one we've seen on Raffall. Jones wants to sell her home so that she can take her dream trip of travelling around Europe in a campervan! Details of the property are actually quite limited. All we know from Raffall is that it's located in the "Sunny Southeast City of Waterford with access to beaches only 20 mins away by car". We also have no idea of valuation which isn't particularly helpful so we've gone for a 50% of ticket sales valuation of £200,000!
How To Enter
As well as having limited location and valuation details, the competition page also has limited property details. This is not good for a house contest! What we do know is that it has recently been renovated, has three bedrooms, a kitchen, dining room and living room. The property has a garden and an outside area for parking. A 2016 BMW M2 is part of the prize package. Unsurprisingly there aren't any details about the car. So we don't know the condition, mileage or valuation. Finally the prize package comes with a €5,000 Cash prize - at least we understand how much that is worth!
To enter the raffle you need to be registered with Raffall. This can be done via Facebook or email login. Once at the house raffle page it's a case of answering a question and purchasing tickets. The question pops up in a window which we found disappeared very quickly. Tickets cost £5, which is on the high side for Raffall competitions, and there's no limit to the number you can purchase. You can purchase online using debit cards. As far as we're aware this property competition is not making any donations to charity.
80,000 Ticket Sales
Jones hopes to sell 80,000 tickets (total revenue £400,000) before Christmas 2020 in order to conclude the draw. If insufficient tickets are sold then the winners will receive a share of the compensation amounting to 75% of all ticket sales. All compensation payments are guaranteed and paid directly by Raffall Limited. Some Raffall competitions have completed whilst others have paid out in cash so this should give entrants a lot of confidence if choosing to play.
So another Raffall competition that lacks lots of detail - and this one doesn't even have a picture of the house! Without basic info such as a valuation it's hard to know whether the ticket target is realistic or not. We do think that competitions with a £5 price point though will struggle more than those at £2. The location of the property may also be an issue as we're not 100% sure if Raffall is open to non-UK residents? If it is then we do wonder how many Irish players it may attract as we don't think many people will opt for a property in Waterford when there are so many other competitions to enter. We'd not be surprised to see this end up with a cash winner.
