Spanish properties keep popping up as home prizes and we suspect there will be plenty more in the pipeline despite a poor record of success. Housemania Ltd, who describe themselves as a "real estate management company based in United Kingdom which helps families facing evictions or financial problems to sell their homes though raffles" are hoping to change that record with this property raffle. Interestingly they do have a website in development at housemania.co.uk so we wonder whether this Raffall competition is a way of testing the water and see how it progresses.

How To Enter The Competition

On offer is a three bedroom, two bathroom house in Benicassim. It's in the Costa del Azahar, north of Valencia and just a minute's walk to Heliopolis beach. The property comes fully furnished and has access to a pool (maybe communal?), garden and private garage. We think this sounds like an ideal holiday home/rental property and to their credit Housemania have included details about potential rental rates. In addition they've also added information about property taxes and community fees. Details about legal fees, notary costs and sorting out transfer of ownership in Spain are not provided. It's also not indicated whether you'd need to travel to the location to complete the transfer if you won.

To enter the raffle you need to be registered with Raffall. This can be done via Facebook or email login. Once at the house raffle page it's a case of answering a question and purchasing tickets. The question pops up in a window which we found disappeared very quickly. Tickets only cost £5 and there's no limit to the number you can purchase. You can purchase online using debit cards. No donations are being made to charity in this particular competition.

70,000 Ticket Sales

Housemania aims to sell a modest 70,000 tickets (total revenue £350,000) by the end of April 2021 in order to conclude the draw. If insufficient tickets are sold then the winners will receive a share of the compensation amounting to 75% of all ticket sales. All compensation payments are guaranteed and paid directly by Raffall Limited. Note that if 100% of the tickets are not sold then the promoter receives nothing.

We're not sure of the value of this property so the ticket target may be realistic. That said the competition hasn't been well promoted and the Facebook link indicated on the Raffall page isn't active. From previous experience Raffall competitions that aren't pushed and have prizes overseas really do struggle and we suspect that this may fall into that category.
