The website is quite detailed and offers lots of information about the castle and the competition. The owners hope to raise £250,000 for good causes, but that will require all 500,000 tickets to be sold. As well as the first prize, there's a second prize of a Murano Glass Sculpture by Dino Rosin. This plus extra charity awards only occur on successful completion of the promotion.
In the event that not enough tickets are sold, then an 85% cash prize will go to one winner whilst 15% will go to charity. The amount will be determined after expenses and admin fees have been removed.
The draw for this competition took place on the 1st June 2018. Three cash prizes of £5000 to £65,000 were paid out. According to the owner "UK entries into the competition have been very few and far between". Going by the income generated (approx £107,000) we belive that around 21,400 tickets were sold.
The owner is now reviewing what to do with the castle and is even considering a rerun of the competition.
