According to the owner of this property that due to the pandemic many people have dreamt of moving away from the towns and cities and out into the country. Homes in Cornwall are in high demand and therefore this competition gives you the chance to live there mortgage free - should you win the prize. The location of the property is described as 15 minutess away from Looe and in a much sought after village. The owner doesn't offer a valution of the property. As house prices vary considerably in the Cornwall area we've estimated a cool £1million simply based on the ticket sales target.

How To Enter The Competition

Considering the nature of the property on offer the details about it are relatively slim. We know that it has seven bedrooms with a possible eighth if needed. Downstairs is a library with bespoke shelving plus a "large open plan newly fitted kitchen with a massive Cornish solid granite island". The house is all set in two acres of land which is perfect for chickens, growing vegetables etc. There are a few images of the property but not enough in our view. Unusually the winner will be responsible for their own legal fees and instructing their own solicitor. However thankfully stamp duty will be paid by the owner.

To enter the raffle you need to be registered with Raffall. This can be done via Facebook or email login. Once at the house raffle page it's a case of answering a question and purchasing tickets. The question pops up in a window which we found disappeared very quickly. Tickets cost £10 and there's no limit to the number you can purchase. You can purchase online using debit cards. The competition doesn't appear to be supporting any worthy causes.

170,000 Ticket Sales

The promoter of this competition, Georgina Serpell, aims to sell just 170,000 tickets (total revenue £1.7million) by June 12th 2021 in order to conclude the draw. If insufficient tickets are sold then the winners will receive a share of the compensation amounting to 75% of all ticket sales. All compensation payments are guaranteed and paid directly by Raffall Limited. Note that if 100% of the tickets are not sold then the promoter receives nothing.

Cornwall may well be a diserable place to live but will this competition generate enough interest to create a new home winner? The ticket price is on the expensive side and given that £5 property competitions struggle to get close to their targets we think this one will find the going tough, especially in under three months. The owners aren't helping their cause either by not providing much background or information about the home. It's almost as though they're relying on "luxury house in Cornwall" as being enough for people to part with their money. Enter Competition Here
