The first new Omaze win a house prize draw of 2024 sees us return to The Cotswolds for what is the fourth time in the platform's history. Now we don't know about you but The Cotswolds always makes us think of Gloucestershire but actually they spread out into Oxfordshire (every day's a school day). And it's in the Oxfordshire area where this month's property resides. The property is actually called Cotswold Edge so we guess that it's right on the edge of what is known as The Cotswolds? In fact it's in Ramsden, Chipping Norton and we know that because this was a very easy property to locate using Google Image Search. According to Right Move the property went up for sale in October 2023 and had a guide price of £3,750,000. You can also check out the property listing on other sites including Butler Sherborn where you'll even find a downloadable brochure. That includes everything you need to know about the house.

About The Property

Cotswold Edge comprises of five bedrooms, three of which are on the first floor and two on the ground floor. The estate agent details suggest there are six bedrooms so we're assuming they're reffering to maybe using the Annex/Games/Office area? All the first floor bedrooms have their own en-suite. A large reception room also ocupies the top floor. On the ground floor there's an open plan kitchen/dining room plus a study and a larder. A garage with workshop/studio space adds to the property which is set in 0.3 acres with outstanding viewa. A £100,000 cash prize will be included though to help you settle in, pay the electricity bill, or hang on to it long enough to sell. You could also use the cash to do some redecorating as we're not quite sure about some of the choices of decor. All furnishings are included. If you win and are thinking about rental opportunities then Omaze suggests that you can realise between £5000 and £7000 per month.

How To Enter The Competition

To enter the prize draw you simply need to purchase tickets. Tickets for the competition cost £10 for 15 entries. Unfortunately you can't purchase less than £10 worth of tickets. Other ticket packages cost £25 (40 entries), £50 (85 entries) and £150 (320 entries). A recent new option is the subscription service. Pay £10 a month for 30 entries. Do check the terms before siging up for this! For a free entry you can send a postcard or envelope to the address given on the website. This is worth doing as "once a postal entry has been processed it will be entered in to the next available draw and all subsequent draws until the final Grand Prize drawing". Postal entries have an equal chance of winning as any one paid entry. If a postal entry wins a prize there will be no further purchase or payment necessary to be notified of the win or to receive the prize.

Guaranteed Prizes

As we mentioned in the other competitions, we think that it's worth entering this Omaze competition as the prize is guaranteed even if not enough tickets are sold. This means there will be a home winner and no competition extensions. Additionally there are early bird entry prizes on offer and the chance to win weekly cash prizes. For example enter before 14th February 2024 and you could win £250,000 cash. Gift vouchers are also being given away in Big Dreamer giveaways that will also take place during the promotion. In terms of good causes, GOSH will also benefit from ticket sales. Omaze has guaranteed a minimum total payment of £1million for the charity - we think that this is much higher than previous draws? Note that the competition is open to UK residents only.

Our Verdict

A New Year, a new house but the same format for Omaze and a return to The Cotswolds, albeit just on the edge. Perhaps the idea of a Cotswolds property sounds more attractive than an Oxfordshire House? The property looks quite nice although some of the decor choices aren't our taste. The green slate in the utility would have to go!! From what we can see the property has been recently renovated. In fact on Google Street View you can see it under construction. Street View also shows that the property is quite close to a road and that there's a field opposite. The area looks quite pretty and rural.
