This month has been another busy one for win a home competitions and yet another one has launched. This time Paul White and Anna White are giving entrants the chance to win their home and car. Note that they will be awarded as separate prizes. The property is located in South Derbyshire located within the DE11 area - Church Gresley. Unsually for competitions running on their own platform the exact location of the property is not given. The property is well situated for great local schools, shops and motorway links.
How To Enter The Competition
The house itself is described as a three storey four bedroomed house that's ideal for a family. Downstairs is an open plan kitchen and dining area. The lounge can be found on the first floor alongside the master bedroom with the remaining three bedrooms located on the top floor. Outside there's a private gated driveway with garage. The website has a plan of the property plus a handful of images. Details of the car - a 2019 BMW 218i SE Gran Tourer Automatic Luxury Car - and a Walt Disney Holiday are given on the website. All fees will be paid by the homeowner with respect to the car and home.
To enter the raffle you need to be first answer a mutliple choice question. Note that if you get the answer wrong you're told and invited to try again. You can't purchase a ticket without getting the answer right! Once you have the right answer you're then redirected to another site in order to purchase tickets. One ticket costs £2.50 but you can make savings by making bulk purchases. A no purchase necessary postal entry is available - details of the address can be found in the terms. Note you need to include the correct answer to the question with your entry.
200,000 Ticket Sales
The White's aims to sell 200,000 tickets (total revenue £500,000) by the end of July 2021 (we think this has been extended from end of April) in order to conclude the draw. If insufficient tickets are sold then the winners will receive a share of the compensation which is a minimum of 70% of ticket sales. However this reduces as ticket sales increase - so at 100,000 ticket sales the prize is £150K (60%). The car and holiday are guaranteed 150,000 tickets. A donation of £25,000 will be made to Make A Wish Foundation UK byt only if all tickets are sold.
There are some elements of this competition which we quite like. The addition of second and third prizes is always good and the ticket price is reasonable. The ticket target does seem to be on the high side and we're a little bit confused by the cash prize variations when certain volumes are reached. If the cash prize can be 70% at 10,000 tickets then we don't see why it can't also be 70% at 100,000. Additionally the charity should/could benefit regardless of whether all tickets are sold.
