Bounty Competitions are back with another property raffle and this time they have a holiday lodge on offer in conjunction with Royal Arch Riverside Park in Fettercairn. If you visit their website they're even advertising the competition! The website is also very useful for would be entrants who fancy the idea of owning their own lodge either for personal use or as an investment property. The lodge is located in Dowrieburn, By Fettercairn in Aberdeenshire. It's located about 45 minutes from Aberdeen and just over two hours from Edinburgh. The lodge on offer is a Rivendale which according to Royal Arch is available from £250,000 making it one of the more expensive units available. If you do win this competition then you'll get to know the owners of Bounty because they'll be your next door neighbours on the site. According to the terms you can live in the lodge provided you have a secondary address for post.

About The Property

The property is a luxury lodge that can sleep up to six people although we think it only has two bedrooms. There is a snug/office area which we're assuming could become a small third bedroom option. The main bedroom has an en-suite. All appliances are included with the prize and the lodge is fully furnished. Outside you'll find three decking areas including one that has privacy glass and hot tub with unobstructed views. In addition the winner will also receive £10,000 cash and we understand that Bounty will sort out all the legalities. As far as we can tell there's no cash alternative for this particular raffle, however Bounty do state that if the winner wants to rent out the lodge through Royal Arch then they will give you £25K for the year! One thing that is missing from the details are the various costs involved in keeping the lodge, ground rent etc. We'd also like to know the age of the lodge and any details with respect to how expected lifetime.

How To Enter The Competition

Entry to the Bounty Competitions prize draw is very easy. All you have to do is select your raffle ticket(s) and go on and purchase them. If you're not keen on trying to find your own lucky number then there is a lucky dip option. The latter is actually quite useful as it does save you wading through the lists of numbers trying to find one that appeals. Once you've picked your numbers then head to the checkout where you'll need to login/register and pay. Note that there are no questions to answer! If you're interested then a no purchase necessary route is offered in the site's terms and conditions. To enter via this method you must first create a free account and then send a postcard stating which competition they would like to enter. A random ticket number will be allocated per postcard and emailed over confirmation of their ticket number.

29000 Tickets

Bounty Competitions aim to sell 29000 tickets before the start of September 2022 in order to complete the draw. Assuming all tickets are sold at full price that equates to just under £290,000. There's no need to worry about what will happen if the competition doesn't sell enough tickets because we suspect that this will sell out like it's predecessors. At time of writing over 8000 tickets had already be sold and that's after just a few days. According to Facebook the prize will be drawn once all tickets have been sold so we suspect there may be options to extend.

Our Verdict

Competition sites like Bounty and McKinney have had an excellent record when it comes to property raffles so we're expecting another property winner here. The lodge looks pretty good and will be attractive for those local to the area. The offer of rental should appeal to other entrants as an annual income of £25,000 is pretty decent. The only things we think you need to take note of - or at least consider - are the costs of owning such a property. We think Bounty need to include this information as well as a bit of background on the lodge - for example is it brand new or pre-owned. Not that it matters with respect to the raffle but winners may want to know the valuation, how easy it is to sell on etc. Enter Competition Here
