Spain is the destination for the promoter's of this particular competition. They're hoping to kick off a new business venture and need to sell their home and car to make their dreams a reality. At least it's different from the more typical emigration to Australia. Initially this competition doesn't tell you too much about the property in question. At first glance you'll discover it's somewhere in Lincolnshire but scan to the bottom and the prize needs to be picked up from Gainsborough - so we can safely assume this is the locality. Why promoters don't make this info clear we just do not know.
How To Enter
The property on offer is a three bed detached home with a long driveway and built in garage. Downstairs is a kitchen/diner plus conservatory that looks out onto the south facing rear garden. Upstairs all the bedrooms and family bathroom. A BMW Z4 3.0i Roadster with 54,000 miles on the clock is included in the prize package. However there are no details about how old the car is but it looks nice. The car seems to be the star of the show as the owner has a couple of images on the site but none of the actual house - just shots of rooms and the garden. There are also no details about furnishings and fittings or payments with respect to legal fees, stamp duty etc.
To enter the raffle you need to be registered with Raffall. This can be done via Facebook or email login. Once at the house raffle page it's a case of answering a question and purchasing tickets. The question pops up in a window which we found disappeared very quickly. Tickets only cost £2.50 and there's no limit to the number you can purchase. You can purchase online using debit cards. According to the competition details 5% of revenue will go to the Mayflower Animal Sanctuary.
160,000 Ticket Sales
The promoter of this competition, Darran Southard, aims to sell 160,000 tickets (total revenue £400,000) by the start of May 2021 in order to conclude the draw. If insufficient tickets are sold then the winners will receive a share of the compensation amounting to 75% of all ticket sales. All compensation payments are guaranteed and paid directly by Raffall Limited. Note that if 100% of the tickets are not sold then the promoter receives nothing.
If you're trying to giveaway your property as a prize it would seem like a good idea to at least show potential entrants a picture of the outside. We don't know why it's been omitted but at least the car and rooms look nice enough. The ticket sales target does seem ambitious especially if the property value is around £175,000 (based on typical prices on Zoopla for the Gainsborough area). The addition of the car is a nice touch but doesn't really add too much extra value to the overall prize package. This might be one that needs a lot of local support to get close to generating a property winner.
