Joining the win a house party are pay to enter prize draw site Elite Competitions. These are one of the most well known platforms in the sector having tried to secure funding after appearing on Dragon's Den. They're now hoping to emulate the success of McKinney, Bear and Bounty by offering their entrants the chance to win a property. The property on offer is located in Cleveleys which is near Blackpool. Now usually that's all the information you get in terms of location but Elite aren't being as coy as others. They've named the road and postcode of their prize which is brilliant. Even better they've mentioned that the nearest pub is just two minutes (although this detail may put off some entries and encourage others). The value of the property is given as £260,000 although this is at the higher end than current properties listed for sale on Rightmove but it does include extras.

The Property

The property being offered is a renovated three bedroom bungalow (which is the same as Speed Competitions Cumbria property by the way). According to Elite the property has undergone £75,000+ of renovations and now boasts a stunning open plan kitchen-diner plus a modern bathroom that features a bath and walk-in shower. We don't think there's a garage but there is room for two cars on a driveway. The rear garden has artificial grass plus a summer room which could be used as an office, man cave, kid's play area or even a bar if you didn't fancy the two minute walk. The property comes with £20,000 of new furniture from FAB Home Interiors. The prize also includes Mortgage Free, Solicitor Fee’s paid, Stamp Duty Paid but no finances to help the winner get settled in to their new home. Elite do say that from a rental perspective this bungalow could bring in £1000 a month and even offer some help in putting the winner in contact with a local estate agent to help out there. As far as we're aware there's also no cash alternative on offer.

How To Enter The Competition

To enter the prize draw for the chance to win this bungalow in Cleveleys you simply need to purchase your tickets from Elite. There aren't any questions to answer but you will need to register. Tickets can be purchased as singles and it seems the max you can purchase is 200. Payments can be made using PayPal, Visa, MasterCard and Apple Pay. As always it might be discount codes and/or chances to win tickets on Elite Competitions' social media pages so do check. There is a free entry route offered for entrants who wish to take that option. Entry is via postcard and details about how to complete your entry are given on the website. Only one Postal Entry is permitted per prize draw for each registered account. Postal Entries are limited to one entry per person to each draw.

205000 Tickets

Elite Competitions aim to sell a maximum of 199975 tickets at £4.95 (total revenue of £997,875) in just a few weeks with the draw concluding on the 28th July 2023. The ticket price is reasonable although it'll be interesting to see if Elite sell out. With such a high ticket target they can guarantee the property will be won at around 25-30% sales. At time of writing just under 20,000 tickets had been sold so there's a long way to go but these sales were pretty much within the first 24 hours of promotion which bodes well for a property winner. As far as we know there are no charity donations planned for this particular prize draw and the property will be awarded regardless. Their FAQ states that the "draw will always go ahead regardless of the ticket sales".

Our Verdict

So another "raffle" style site decides to give property prize draws a try. This is great news for win a house competition fans and helps maintain interest (and competition) within the sector. The property prize may not appeal to everyone but we do like the fact that Elite mention rentals and that they'd assist connecting the winner with an estate agent. However a cash alternative is always a nice option and it's a surprise that Elite haven't offered one here. One thing that does make the draw more attractive than others are the instant wins. When you purchase a ticket you could instantly find out that you've won a spot prize. Whilst most are site credits you could also end up with a pizza oven, apple watch, la-z-spa or Ikea vouchers. Hopefully this is the start of Elite running regular property giveaways. Enter Competition Here
