The pay to enter prize draw market is an incredibly competitive one and sites continue to try and raise their game. Hoping to follow in the footsteps of Elite, Bounty, Bear and McKinney with a property winner are Kilted Competitions. This Scottish based prize draw site have given away £5million in prizes and donated thousands to charity. This is their biggest prize draw to date and features a four bedroom detached house in Montrose. In case you don't know Montrose is on the east coast of Scotland and is in between Dundee in the south and Aberdeen in the north. We're not sure if the property on offer is owned by the same people behind Kilted Competitions but it wouldn't be a surprise as platforms like these usually like to test the water this way.

The Property

The property on offer has four bedrooms including an en-suite with the main bedroom. Downstairs there's a living room alongside an open plan dining room and kitchen. Outside the property boasts a garden studio complete with underfloor heating and a garden complete with decking and artificial grass. It's not clear if the property comes fully furnished or whether the prize does include Mortgage Free, Solicitor Fee’s paid, Stamp Duty Paid etc. However there's a £5000 cash for the winner. Images of the property can be found on the Kilted Competitions website but we do think that they need to update the details to explain about costs etc. If a four bedroom home in Montrose isn't your cup of tea then there's a £175,000 cash alternative should you wish to take that - provided you win.

How To Enter The Competition

To enter the competition for the chance to win this home in Montrose or cash alternative you simply need to answer a multiple choice question and then go on to purchase tickets. Note that the default ticket purchase is set to 5 so just be aware of that when you visit. There might be discount codes and/or chances to win tickets on Kilted Competitions' social media pages so do check. There is a free entry route offered for entrants who wish to take that option. Entry is via postcard and details about how to complete your entry are given on the website. Qualifying entrants must have created an account on the website for the free entry to be included. Postal entries received without a registered account will not be processed.

205000 Tickets

Kilted Competitions aim to sell a maximum of 75000 tickets at £7 (total revenue of £375,000) by the Christmas Eve 2023. The ticket price is reasonable and the target fair given the value of the property. Kilted have given themselves plenty of time to generate sales so it'll be interesting to see how quickly things go (or don't go). At time of writing just over 11,000 tickets had been sold so there's a long way to go but these sales were pretty much within the first day of promotion. In terms of charity donations, the winner will have £5000 to donate to a cause of their choice whilst another £5000 will be donated to Cash for Kids from Kilted. Kilted say that a guaranteed draw will take place on the 24th December so we're assuming the prize will be awarded regardless of ticket sales?

Our Verdict

It's good to see a new platform jumping into the win a house sector and hopefully dilute the bad taste left by Win My Home Nottingham. We like the fact that the ticket price is attractive and that there's a decent cash prize alternative in play should the winner not want the property. Those two things will help attract entrants who may be unaware of Kilted. As usual we'd like to see more details on the competition page. Things like whether the property is furnished and who's paying the legal side of things are kind of important. Hopefully things will work out well for Kilted and they'll be joining McKinney etc in the winners circle. However the last new pay to enter prize draw site to venture into the arena was Speed Competitions who opted to end their promo early due to the stress involved.

Due to impressive sales, Kilted have moved the closing date to 9pm on 26th November. Enter Competition Here
