Jamie Runciman wants to move nearer to his kids' school. However the area he wants to move to has seen property prices dramatically increase thereby making this goal seem impossible. To faciliate - or at least try and faciliate - this move, Jamie is raffling his property on Raffique. This is the 4th competition on that platform - one is still running whilst the other two were cut short due to different issues. Can Jamie help the platform finally become established in this sector? The property on offer is located in Ashton-In-Makerfield and was purchased in 2018 for £100,000. We've upped that valuation slightly to reflect the current market.

About The Property

At first glance there's not much information on Raffique about the property. The best advice therefore is to watch the video that Runciman has created. You'll discover that it's a three bedroom, two bathroom Edwardian end of terrace home. The loft has been converted. And that's it! Thankfully there a few more images and videos on the various social media channels, but we do think the Raffique page needs more detail. Remember the Raffique guys have done this before so they should be able to advise hosts about the minimum requirements.

How To Enter The Competition

To purchase a ticket you simply need to visit the competition page, select the number of tickets you wish to purchase and answer a multiple choice question. You aren't told if the answer you've selected is right or wrong so use Google first if you're unsure. At checkout you'll be asked to create an account with Raffique if you've not already got one. Payments are managed with Vivawallet. As far as we can see there are no limits to the number of tickets you can purchase per competition. A free entry postal option can be found in the terms. Tickets cost £10 each and there's no early bird offers.

20000 Ticket Sales

Runciman hopes to sell a minimum of 20,000 tickets (total revenue £200,000) up to a maximum of 30,000 tickets (total revenue £300,000) by the middle of June 2022 in order to conclude the draw. As far as we're aware the closing date will not be extended although it will be brought forward if all tickets sell early. If insufficient tickets are sold then the winners will receive a share of the compensation amounting to 75% of all ticket sales. According to the host they will be making a donation of 5% of the profits to Wigan Youth Zone.

Our Verdict

This could be an interesting to watch as Runciman is definitely up for making the process work. Social media can help boost sales and it's good to see that he's using these channels well already. He already has a reasonable FB following (more than Froghopping) and seems well connected which may help outreach. The toughest task for the host is to convince people to buy tickets and to buy-in to the Raffique platform! The price is quite high - although less than most of the Irish raffles - but then the minimum target isn't too unrealistic. In our view there's wiggle room to create a winner at a lower minimum. Hopefully it works out well because Raffique really do need to get a house raffle to completion. Enter Competition Here
