The semi-detached property, built in 1911, comprises four double bedrooms, three with en-suite, and overlooks Abington Park. It's a three storey property with reception rooms and kitchen. Outside there's also a studio complete with power and lights. Legal fees (limited to a maximum of £1100 plus VAT) will be covered by the owners.

Free Entry Option

To enter the competition you need to answer a multiple choice question about Northampton. Select your answer and then purchase tickets. There is a free entry route available. Download a free entry form via the site and complete the required details. It's one free entry per household.

Raising £1million For Good Causes

The owners aim to sell 500,000 tickets for £5 each. But, a minimum of 150,000 tickets need to be sold for the house giveaway to take place. The terms state that the promoters reserve the right to extend the current closing date by one month. If less than 150,000 tickets are sold then a cash prize will be awarded. This will be less 10% admin fees plus 50% of the prize pool will go to charity.

Achieving 500,000 ticket sales would raise significantly more money than the £600,000 value of the property. However, the owners aim to generate significant sums of money for their chosen charities! Details of how the charitable donation will be implemented is explained on the website. The site doesn't explain where the remaining £900,000 generated from the 500,000 ticket sales would go.

Worthy of note is that this is the first home competition that we've seen in conjunction with an estate agent. eMoov are one of the partners and it'll be interesting to see whether this improves the number of ticket sales.

£34K To Charity

The Win A House competition announced their cash prize winner in mid-October. Their Facebook page also announced that they "will be giving nearly £34k to the University of Northampton for use in their Dementia research and UnityDem programmes". We estimate that the winner received a similar sum and therefore 15,000 to 16,000 were sold.

The owners have teased that they'll be an announcement soon after the draw - although that was nearly 5/6 weeks ago. Enter Competition Here
