Whilst we usually only try and feature apartments and houses here on Loquax, occasionally something fun crosses our paths and we think it's worthy of inclusion. Joining the mix of the weird and the wonderful is a London Bus Home - a double decker bus that has been converted by Hayley Rowson into a home. Hayley hit the news back in 2021 when it was revealed that she'd purchased the bus by selling pictures on OnlyFans! According to The Daily Post she paid just £3250 for the bus. We're not sure what the value of the bus is today, now it's been converted, so have taken an arbitrary value based on the ticket price and the ticket target.

About The Property

The London Bus Home has been professionally converted into a unique house on wheels that's ready to move into - or rent out. The bus boasts a a fully fitted kitchen with Smeg fridge/freezer, gas cooker and Belfast sink. The living area has a log burner plus there's a fully fitted solar system so that you could live off grid. A king size bed is located at the back of the bus whilst upstairs you'll find a beautiful Victorian bath. The bus hasn't been on the road whilst Hayley has been renovating it but it does run perfectly. However to help the potential winner move the bus to a new location the overall prize package includes £1000 cash. We're assuming any legalities etc will be covered by the host.

How To Enter

To enter the raffle you need to be registered with Raffall. This can be done via Facebook or email login. Once at the house raffle page it's a case of answering a question and purchasing tickets. The question pops up in a window - for this particular competition you'll need to answer an easy multiple choice question about Steve Jobs and the company he was famous for working for. Tickets cost £15 and there's no limit to the number you can purchase. You can purchase online using debit cards. As far as we know there's no charity donations earmarked for this particular draw.

2000 Ticket Sales

The promoter hopes to sell 2000 tickets at £15 each (total revenue £30,000) by the end of December 2022 in order to conclude the draw. We don't know whether they'd be any wiggle room (e.g >1500 ticket sales) for the host and Raffall to award the bus as a prize. If insufficient tickets are sold then the winners will receive a share of the compensation amounting to 75% of all ticket sales. All compensation payments are guaranteed and paid directly by Raffall Limited. This is a little bit different to house competitions run by individuals and should offer more assurance to entrants.

Our Verdict

The bus is a fun addition to our property listings but we are a little confused. We found it via Google search and not within the Raffall listings. So we're not sure if it is active. When you try a search on Raffall the prize draw doesn't show up. Another point to consider is that The London Bus Home Instagram hasn't been updated since 7th August (although we've discovered Hayley has been unwell). Our advice is to perhaps hold fire before purchasing tickets then check in to see whether the ball is rolling. By the way we often criticise raffle hosts for their lack of marketing ideas. With this particular raffle Hayley has been offering VIP subscriptions to her OnlyFans page to people purchasing tickets.
