Everyone's running a property prize draw this June! Joining in the fun are Lucky Day Competitions, another Northern Ireland based company. They've been running prize draws for a while now and claim to have given away over £50million in prizes, created over 10,000+ winners and have over 500,000 followers across various platforms. They have a high rating on Trustpilot but do ask for reviews. The negative comments are a mix of not winning, winners being from Ireland and issues with postal entries. The property being offered by Lucky Day is a three bedroom villa in Campo de Cartagena y Mar Menor, San Javier. We believe it's located in the same location as this property (Abraz to Casa) which is up for sale from €319.950.

The Property

The property being offered is descibed by Lucky Day as having "three spacious bedrooms, with the master bedroom featuring its own balcony". Downstair the living room opens up onto your own private pool and a large terrace. The villa also benefits from solar panels plus has it's own parking space. We're not sure if the villa comes fully furnished but images on the website suggest it's all ready to be used. Lucky Day don't give any details about rentals with respect to this villa, but if you do look at that as an opportunity don't forget to take into account local taxes etc. Also not given in the details is whether Lucky Day will pay for travel costs to go to Spain to sort out the transfer of ownership, fees etc etc. If owning this stunning villa isn't for you then you can take a £275,000 cash prize.

How To Enter

To enter the competition for the chance to win a luxury villa in Spain or £275,000 you need to answer a stupidly easy multiple choice question and then purchase your tickets. You will also need to be registered with Lucky Day. As far as we can tell the maximum number of tickets you can buy for this draw is 2000 (or at least that's the max you can put into the tickets required box). There is a free entry route offered for entrants who wish to take that option. Entry is via postcard and details about how to complete your entry are given on the website. You do need to include the answer to the competition question with your entry. Interestingly the info on site states "Please ensure that you have selected the appropriate answer to the multiple-choice question or you will be charged" - what you'll be charged with is not clear!

59997 Tickets

Lucky Day Competitions aim to sell 59997 tickets at a maximum ticket price of £14.97 (total revenue just under £900,000 if all tickets sold at full price) by the end of June 2024. We don't know much about this platform so have no idea whether that target is achievable before the deadline. However as the prize is guaranteed it's not really an issue. However from what we can see Lucky Day are quite aggressive with their sales push. To get the ball rolling on this one they've discounted the starting price for early birds but we wonder whether they'll follow the route of reducing the price to encourage more sales towards the end of the promotion.

Our Verdict

Pay To Enter Prize Draw sites are really starting to dominate the win a house section - although why are all the prizes abroad! This is a lovely looking villa but the £275,000 cash sum is much more appealing, especially as there's not a great deal of difference in value between the property and cash prizes. We don't know a lot about Lucky Day Competitions but ticket sales haven't been as rapid as say a Bounty giveaway (just over 10,000 since the 7th June as at time of writing). Check out the many posts on Facebook and Instagram as likes/shares/tags may win you a free entry. Engagement for these posts is quite low too - although we've not seen any mention of any winners. As usual with any new site offering property prizes just be cautious and perhaps hold on until closer to the closing date to see if there's any discounts.

The winner chose the cash alternative!
