We don't usually include Campervans on the win a house listings. However Marwood Makes have previously been included with a luxury canal boat prize draw and this is their follow up. The canal boat prize draw was a successful giveaway and with limited options with respect to properties we thought we'd make an exception. Marwood Makes are a company based in Bath that have been "transforming spaces on wheels & water since 2018". They're now offering their skills to a lucky winner. The prize for this particular prize draw is a converted a 2019 Peugeot Boxer 335 with just under 40,000 miles on the clock. Marwood Makes have transformed it into a stunning living space that's ideal if vanlife is something that attracts you.

About The Property

The campervan is valued at £45,000 and has sleeping space for two people. It includes everything that you need for life on the road including fridge, solar panels, diesel heater, porta potti toilet, fresh water tank, satnav and rear reversing sensors. According to Marwood Makes Luella, the name of the van, "was designed with idea of keeping all cabinetry and fixed woodwork very, very minimal and clean with exquisite woodwork". The images of the interior of the van are very impressive. We presume that all fixtures and furnishings are included with the prize - according to Instagram "the winner to be able to choose the colour of the exterior". However we're also assuming things like insurance, taxes and delivery will come down to the winner.

How To Enter The Competition The Prize Draw

To enter the prize draw you need to visit Marwood Makes and purchase tickets. Unusually for this period of win a house competitions they've chosen to design and build their own independent site. First you need to select the number of tickets that you wish to buy and then answer a multiple choice question. The question is relatively easy but if you're unsure then Google is your friend as you can still buy tickets with the wrong answer. When you do get past the first page you have to select an answer again but it looks (to us at least) that the checkout defaults to the right answer. Just in case you haven't seen the question enough times it's also on the checkout page. Also at the checkout you need to complete all your details.

25,000 Tickets

Marwood Makes are aiming to sell a maximum of 25,000 tickets at £5 each (revenue £125,000) in order to be able to giveaway the prize. Tickets need to be sold by the middle of March 2024. If you fancy a luttle bit of a discount then sign up for their mailing list. Also keep an eye on social media for occasional free prize draws to win tickets. Details about selling insufficient tickets is quite limited. However based on the information we found it suggests to us that if not enough tickets are sold then the competition will be cancelled and refunds issued. The only reference to a cash prize that's in the terms and conditions is regarding offering a cash alternative. The promoter can offer a cash alternative but the winner also acknowledges that no cash substitute will be provided.

Our Verdict

This is another nice looking prize from Marwood Makes and although not quite a property, it's a worthy addition to the listings. The price of a ticket is reasonable too. Sales are currently at just under 4000 sold with around one month of the draw to go. That's actually not too bad for just one week. This one could well sell out as we get closer to the end date, but it's also realistic to assume that they'd only need to sell around 10,000 tickets to cover the cost of the van.
