Well this is a bit different! Instead of running a win a home prize draw over a couple of weeks or months, McKinney Competitions are hosting a flash giveaway. This means that the promotion will only last a few days before a winner is drawn. On offer is a stunning three-bedroom turn-key home in Armagh City plus £10,000 cash. Due to the short notice of the giveaway plus the fact that we've been away on holiday details for this particular one may be quite limited, but we do think that it's located at The Willows at Deanery Demesne, Armagh (Propertypal. A sale of £197,500 has recently been agreed on the property and we're pretty confident that this is the same house that's now on offer in this prize draw (Hannath.

The Property

McKinney describe the three bedroom luxury home as "a beautiful property" that "features a spacious garden and modern amenities, perfect for comfortable living". There are three bedrooms and a bathroom on the top floor. The main bedroom has it's own en-suite. Downstairs there's a lounge plus kitchen/dining area as well as a utility room. Outside is a lovely garden with a BBQ area whilst there's a driveaway to park your car. We think that the property comes furnished but it's not clear from the information on site. We also assume that all taxes and legal fees will be taken care of by the hosts. If you're not keen on this particular property then you can always opt to take a £200,000 cash alternative.

How To Enter

To enter the competition for the chance to win the luxury home in Amargh you simply need to answer a multiple choice question. Note that you're not told whether your answer is right or not but the question is so absurdly easy that you won't need Google to check. We all know the capital of Ireland right (and it's the same question that McKinney seem to use for every single one of their Irish property prize draws). Once you've made your selection it's simply a case of completing the purchase of your tickets. There is a free entry route offered for entrants who wish to take that option. McKinney Competitions aim to sell a maximum of 5999 tickets at £100 (total revenue just under £600,000 of all tickets sold at full price) in just 72 hours. This does seem quite ambitious and it could be squeaky bum time as at about half way through the process McKinney have so far sold 1322 tickets. We don't know whether they've offered any early birds or whether they'll heavily discount the price as the clock ticks ever closer to the closing date. But whatever happens the prize is guaranteed so someone will win either the house or cash alternative. If the winner chooses the latter then don't be surprised to see this property rotate back onto the win a house circuit.

Our Verdict

A flash win a house competition sounds pretty exciting and it'll be interesting to see just how McKinney fair with this particular process. However the price of the ticket is going to make a lot of folks think twice - and gets a nod of disapproval in terms of responsible play. That said 1300 tickets have already been sold already so obviously people are happy to pay. The big question is whether McKinney will be doing any discounts on this particular draw and how big those discounts will be. We don't imagine for example that they'll slash prices to £10 as players who have paid £100 wouldn't be too pleased.
