Win A Property - Closed
Formula 1 Legend Eddie Jordan has jumped on the home competition bandwagon and is offering a £750,000 flat in London as a prize. Tickets cost just £10 and 150,000 tickets need to be sold.
Launched: 1st August 2018 Closed: 23rd December 2018
Location: London, SW17
House Value: £750000
Ticket Price: £10.00 (Free Entry Available)
Tickets Sold: Unknown
The property is described as a first floor period conversion flat close to Tooting Bec common. It has three bedrooms, two bathrooms, open plan kitchen/living room and a private roof terrace. As far as we're aware the property will be unfurnished.
Spot The Ball
To enter, participants need to register and 'spot the ball' for the chance to win. Tickets cost £10 and the Jordan's aim to sell in the region of 100,000 to 150,000 tickets. This would net an income of £1million to £1.5million for a property valued at £750,000.
If insufficient tickets are sold then a cash prize will be awarded. The amount is not explained - the website simply says "a cash prize will be paid to the winner, net of any fees required to host the competition".
WAP is actually the brainchild of Kyle Jordan, Eddie Jordan's son. The presence of EJ on the site may help raise the profile of win a house competitions. However, we found the site to be user unfriendly and lacking in detail.
For example, we couldn't locate a closing date, the minimum number of tickets required for the property to be won, percentage retained as costs if a cash prize is awarded, potential income from rental or running costs. Information about the spot the ball judging process is also quite limited.
This competition ended in December 2018 and the website simply says "Sorry, this competition is now closed". There's no indication of a winner or whether the process of selecting a winner is being undertaken. We're assuming that the property hasn't been won and that a cash prize will be awarded.
