We usually think we're quite good when it comes to seeking out win a house prize draws hosted on Raffall but this one has really gone under the radar. Launched in May 2021, Padraic Culkin is hoping to create a new property winner for his apartment in Co Sligo. Why this has managed to run for such a long time without any real push from Culkin or Raffall is unknown. There has been some social media activity and a press release (back in May) so maybe ticket sales have been good? Anyway the property is located in Dromore West and according to this report in the Western People the property is worth around €100,000. However we've also seen advertised apartments in the same area as low as €40,000!

About The Property

The property itself is a two bedroom first floor apartment with open plan living room and kitchen. There's a bathroom with bath & electric shower plus gas central heating. For reasons we don't know the host hasn't put many pictures of the property onto the Raffall site. The property comes fully furnished and as far as we known all legal costs etc will be covered by the host. Details with respect to shared costs with the other apartment below, shared gardens etc are not included. The host does suggest however that the apartment could make an ideal a starter home, rental property, holiday home or Airbnb option.

How To Enter The Competition

To enter the raffle you need to be registered with Raffall. This can be done via Facebook or email login. Once at the house raffle page it's a case of answering a question and purchasing tickets. The question pops up in a window - for this particular competition you'll need to get your maths brains working to decide the answer. Tickets cost £15 and there's no limit to the number you can purchase. You can purchase online using debit cards. A donation of 10% will be made to North West Hospice and Cystic Fibrosis Ireland, but do note this only applies if the property is won.

20,000 Ticket Sales

The promoter hopes to sell 20,000 tickets (total revenue £300,000) by the middle of December 2021 in order to conclude the draw. If insufficient tickets are sold then the winners will receive a share of the compensation amounting to 75% of all ticket sales. All compensation payments are guaranteed and paid directly by Raffall Limited. This is a little bit different to house competitions run by individuals and should offer more assurance to entrants.

Our Verdict

Had we added this back in May we'd have probably thought that it had a good chance of creating a property winner simply because of the low ticket target and it being an Irish promo. Whilst the ticket target is reasonable we do wonder whether the property valuation versus target income are too far apart. A more accurate valuation could give us a better picture although the extra €20,000 in cash is a decent addition to the prize (if completed). It may well be a bit too late in the day though for this to get over the line and judging by current social media activity the host isn't creating urgency to get the job done. This suggests to us that this one is heading towards a cash prize. Enter Competition Here
