This is the first property competition we've been aware of that features a property in Hungary. Given that non-UK properties do struggle in raffle style conditions this one has got to go some in order to complete. The cheap-ish ticket price and relatively low ticket target may help it, but details about the property are very limited. As is typical for Raffall there's no valuation nor an accurate location. In fact all we know about the villa is that it's next to the Bodrog river. It'd be nice to know just how close the river is to the house!

How To Enter The Competition

Other than it's close to the river we also know the refurbished villa has 4 big bedrooms, kitchen, big hall ways and 3 utility rooms. The garden is currently being renovated. The competition page does show a handful of images but we really would love more details. Does the property come with furniture for example? How far is it from the nearest airport? Are there any issues and/or requirements regarding UK ownership of property in Hungary - especially post Brexit. We guess that the current owner will deal with costs and taxes involved in the sale but the process isn't explained.

To enter the raffle you need to be registered with Raffall. This can be done via Facebook or email login. Once at the house raffle page it's a case of answering a question and purchasing tickets. The question pops up in a window which we found disappeared very quickly. Tickets only cost £4 and there's no limit to the number you can purchase. You can purchase online using debit cards. No donations are being made to charity in this particular competition.

60,000 Ticket Sales

The owner, Pinchos Cohen, aims to sell 60,000 tickets (total revenue £240,000) by November 2021 in order to conclude the draw. If insufficient tickets are sold then the winners will receive a share of the compensation amounting to 75% of all ticket sales. All compensation payments are guaranteed and paid directly by Raffall Limited. Note that if 100% of the tickets are not sold then the promoter receives nothing.

An overseas property, a long closing date and a limited property description usually only ends up one way - and that is without a property winner and not many ticket sales. Whilst it'd be nice if this particular competition could break the glass ceiling but we wonder whether entrants are going to be attracted to the property and/or owning property in Hungary. We do feel more details about ownership, taxes and any other legalities really should be covered in the competition description. Property in Hungary is also quite cheap so we'd love more information on valuation to see if the owner is being realistic with their targets. Enter Competition Here
