As far as we know this represents the first property in Qatar to join the house prize draw craze. According to the host it's worth £500,000 and located within the "tallest and highest zig-zag (leaning) tower in the world". This building also boasts swimming pools, sauna, Jacuzzi, sport facilities and attractive surroundings. Unfortunately we don't know when this particular raffle started. We can't find any social media activity so that doesn't bode well. Given that 2022 is a World Cup year then this apartment could be an ideal base to go and watch the games or for use as a rental. According to the host the flat is currently leased and can generate up to £2000 per month.

About The Property

The property is two bedroom apartment that includes an American style dining area and kitchen. There's also a living room plus all the amenities the building offers. A few images are included on the Raffall page but we'd like to see a few more as the ones that are shown make the place look quite cluttered. As far as we know all expenses will be paid by the host plus they will arrange all travel expenses to view and collect the prize - should you win. Details about the legalities of owning property in Qatar, tax issues, service charges and other community fees are not included. We do think that this kind of details is absolute necessity when overseas properties are offered as prizes.

How To Enter The Competition

To enter the raffle you need to be registered with Raffall. This can be done via Facebook or email login. Once at the house raffle page it's a case of answering a question and purchasing tickets. The question pops up in a window - for this particular competition you'll need to get your maths brains working to decide the answer. Tickets cost £2 and there's no limit to the number you can purchase. You can purchase online using debit cards. No donations to charity will be made from this competition.

300,000 Ticket Sales

The promoter hopes to sell 300,000 tickets (total revenue £600,000) by the first week of January 2022 in order to conclude the draw. If insufficient tickets are sold then the winners will receive a share of the compensation amounting to 75% of all ticket sales. All compensation payments are guaranteed and paid directly by Raffall Limited. This is a little bit different to house competitions run by individuals and should offer more assurance to entrants.

Our Verdict

We're not hopeful for this particular prize draw and would be very surprised to see it complete or even do well with ticket sales. It's worth noting the host Mohammed Rashdan previously ran a Raffall for a prize mixer and didn't sell enough tickets when the target was just 400. That doesn't bode well nor does the winner's feedback. All that aside though overseas properties tend not to attract much interest from The UK market - even UK properties don't attract interest from The UK market. Whilst it's good that Rashdan will pay for a winner to fly out to Qatar as part of the prize (if won) there's not sufficient information explaining the selling process or any other ongoing fees a potential winner may have to pay.
