During 2021 McKinney Competitions have ran two successful house raffles despite tickets coming with a hefty price tag. Non-early bird tickets for those competitions were close to £100 each! The company are hoping to emulate their success again and again they've chosen an overseas property. On offer is a 2 bedroom apartment in Los Alcazerez, Spain. It's located 20 minutes from Murcia and 30 minutes from La Manga. The property valuation isn't given on the site but the prize does include £35,000 spending money. However a Loquax user has suggested that the apartment is worth no more than 147,000 Euros (Your Move). If the apartment doesn't appeal then the winner can opt to accept a £200,000 cash alternative.

The Property

The property being offered is located within a private, gated complex with access to the beach and shoreline promenade. It's been fully renovated and the kitchen includes all modern appliances including dishwasher and fridge. As far as we're aware the two bedroom apartment comes fully furnished plus also has parking and TV & internet all installed. To top all this off the apartment offers access to a shared swimming pool and beautifully landscaped gardens. According to McKinney the holiday home is perfect for rental opportunities and could realise £40,000 per annum. We think that actually seems like a very generous figure and is based on getting maximum rentals during a calendar year - which isn't always easy for Spanish property.

How To Enter The Competition

To enter the competition for the chance to win a two bed apartment in Spain or £200,000 cash you simply need to answer a multiple choice question. Note that you're not told whether your answer is right or not but the question is so absurdly easy that you won't need Google to check. Once you've made your selection it's simply a case of completing the purchase of your tickets. There is a free entry route offered for entrants who wish to take that option. Entry is via postcard and details about how to complete your entry are given on the website.

10,999 Tickets

McKinney Competitions aim to sell 9,999 tickets at £69.97 (total revenue just under £700,000 - there are some early bird prices too) by the start of December 2021. This may seem quite an ambitious deadline but their previous property competition sold out within days despite the high ticket price. Note that entrants can only have a maximum of one entry per household! If insufficient tickets are sold then we suspect that the closing date is extended until such a time that enough revenue has been generated to cover costs (just over 50% of sales). Over 1200 tickets were sold within the first couple of days.

Our Verdict

With a dedicated audience McKinney do seem more than capable to turn round property raffles at high ticket prices whilst others struggle at lower values. Given the results of their previous property giveaways we fully expect that someone will start 2022 with either a Spanish Apartment or £200,000. To be honest if we won we'd take the cash as whilst the location is nice the money gives you a lot more flexibility. If you're considering the free entry postal option we do suggest not hanging around to get your postcard sent off - just in case this one rapidly completes. Enter Competition Here
