This property didn't take too long to locate thanks to Google Image Search. Sandalwood is described by Wellswood Homes as a stylish 6 bedroom detached property located in the sought-after village of The Sands. It's recently been up for sale with On The Market but the listing has been removed due to being sold (presumably to Omaze). If we've found the right place then thsi property has replaced a spaciously designed detached bungalow built in 1955 and that was up for sale for £1million! According to Zoopla the property sold in 2021 for £1,210,000 but Omaze value it today for around £3million. Omaze suggests that the property is close to Guildford but it's still a 20minute drive away
About The Property
This idyllic bungalow in Surrey comprises five bedrooms, four of which have en-suite. The links above suggest that the property has six bedrooms but on Omaze the "6th bedroom" is indicated as storage. A spacious lounge, kitchen/diner and living room make up the living spaces plus there's a room designated as a study. The exciting element of this particular property though is a pool house that includes a pool (obviously), gym and sauna. All this is set within the 1.3 acres of land on a private no through road. A £100,000 cash prize will be included though to help you settle in, pay the cleaning costs and heating of the pool, or hang on to it long enough to sell. All furnishings are included. If you win and are thinking about rental opportunities then Omaze suggests that you can realise between £9000 and £10000 per month.
How To Enter
To enter the prize draw you simply need to purchase tickets. Tickets for the competition cost £10 for 15 entries. Unfortunately you can't purchase less than £10 worth of tickets. Other ticket packages cost £25 (40 entries), £50 (85 entries) and £150 (320 entries). A recent new option is the subscription service. Pay £10 a month for 30 entries. Do check the terms before siging up for this! For a free entry you can send a postcard or envelope to the address given on the website. This is worth doing as "once a postal entry has been processed it will be entered in to the next available draw and all subsequent draws until the final Grand Prize drawing". Postal entries have an equal chance of winning as any one paid entry. If a postal entry wins a prize there will be no further purchase or payment necessary to be notified of the win or to receive the prize.
Guaranteed Prizes
As we mentioned in the other competitions, we think that it's worth entering this Omaze competition as the prize is guaranteed even if not enough tickets are sold. This means there will be a home winner and no competition extensions. Additionally there are early bird entry prizes on offer and the chance to win weekly cash prizes. For example enter before 16th June 2024 and you could win a Lotus Emira V6 plus £100K. Gift vouchers are also being given away in Big Dreamer giveaways that will also take place during the promotion. In terms of good causes, Prostrate Cancer UK will also benefit from ticket sales. Omaze has guaranteed a minimum total payment of £1million for the charity - we think that this is much higher than previous draws? Note that the competition is open to UK residents only.
Our Verdict
A house with a pool is always a draw and no doubt Omaze will pull in a lot of interest with this particular property. It's location seems pretty good, especially as it's on a much sought after private road, and the potential for rental income makes it very attractive. However as nice as this idyllic bungalow looks it's actually the Lotus Emira V6 that stands out in this particular draw. £85,000 of fun car that will probably bankrupt you to insure makes it tempting to enter! Thankfully Omaze are throwing in £100K for the early bird prize too so you should be able to pay the insurance and still have change.
