Win Kensington House

The owners of the first Raffall house competition wanted to sell their home so that they could start a new life in Australia. And that seems to have struck a chord with others because the owner of this home also wants to move Down Under. As this is a Raffall hosted competition we once again don't have any property valuation or accurate location details. We do know that it's in Gateshead and a two minute drive to Newcastle City Centre. Our valuation is an estimate.

How To Enter

The competition page however does paint a better picture of the property. It has four bedrooms, two on the first floor and two on the second. Downstairs you'll find the kitchen, living room, dining room and the bathroom. Outside there's a back yard with garage door for car access if needed. The images of the property look good and the property descriptions suggest that a lot of renovations have taken place. All solictor fees will be paid for by the owner and they'll even throw in a bottle of champagne on transference of ownership!

To enter the raffle you need to be registered with Raffall. This can be done via Facebook or email login. Once at the house raffle page it's a case of answering a question and purchasing tickets. The question pops up in a window which we found disappeared very quickly. Tickets only cost £2 and there's no limit to the number you can purchase. You can purchase online using debit cards. This competition is supporting good causes with donations being made to Tiny Lives Trust. It isn't clear if this donation is made if all tickets sale or as part of the competition as a whole.

200,000 Ticket Sales

The promoter hopes to sell 200,000 tickets (total revenue £400,000) by the end of August 2021 in order to conclude the draw. If insufficient tickets are sold then the winners will receive a share of the compensation amounting to 75% of all ticket sales. All compensation payments are guaranteed and paid directly by Raffall Limited. This is a little bit different to house competitions run by individuals and should offer more assurance to entrants. The fact that the previous competition concluded within 4 weeks may also encourage entries.

We don't know the exact property valuation so it's hard to know if the 200,000 ticket target is high. However the long closing date is also a concern. A year closing date doesn't suggest urgency and with so many other competitions running - and now now succeeding - this one could get left behind. We like that they're supporting charity but this does need clarity with respect to how much is being donated and when.
