Fiona Koderisch is running this competition. The prize on offer comprises a three bedroom apartment, a 999 year lease and share of the freehold company. In addition 12 months service charge, council tax and Stamp Duty plus all conveyancing legal costs will be paid. The competition is being held on it's own website which comprises of plenty of details and images about the property. There's also an app that you can download! The website states the property is valued at £800,000 but the terms say it was valued at £750,000 for mortgage purporses in June!

How To Enter The Competition

Located in Hove, the apartment overlooks beautiful Palmeira Square in Hove. The beach is just a few minutes walk away. There are three bedrooms although looking at the property plan one of the bedrooms seems to be quite small and may be more ideal as a study/office. The main bedroom has an en-suite plus there's a bathroom adjacent to bedroom two. There's a large living/dining area plus a kitchen with range dual fuel cooker and oven, washer/dryer and American style fridge. We think that these are included in the prize but other furniture may not be. There's no information about parking spaces or service charge costs.

To enter the competition you need to answer a multiple choice question about the charity being supported by the website. Entries cost £2 each although there are discounts should you choose a bulk buy option (e.g. 15 tickets for £20). A no purchase necessary postal route is available and full details can be found in the FAQ section. You don't have to register but you will need to send the answer to the question as part of your entry. Postal entries must be sent by first class post.

550,000 Tickets

According to the terms and FAQ the owners aim to sell 550,000 tickets (£1.1million revenues) but according to the competition page that target is 500,000 (£1million revenue). A maximum of 700,000 tickets can be sold (£1.4million revenue) The house will not be awarded if the minimum of paid tickets is not met by 11th December - although on the website the end of October is referenced. The closing date may be extended by up to 60 days. If not enough tickets are sold then a cash prize will be awarded. This is determined as "80% of ticket sales after marketing expenses have been". Whatever happens 10% of ticket sales will be donated to the Rockinghorse Children’s Charity.

Entrants who purchase a ticket will receive a referral url to share with others. A cash prize of up to £7,500 will be shared amongst the three entrants whose first purchase shared URL raises the most in paid ticket sales. This amount may be reduced at the sole discretion of the promoters if not enough tickets are sold. Although we are not using a referral link it'd be nice if a referral prize is awarded whatever the outcome as it's something other competitions don't do.

Overall this is a lovely property on the South Coast of England. The competition has a few inconsistencies surrounding the start date, end date and number of ticket sales required. We quite like the idea of an app, but the download app link also doesn't work. One thing that is intriguing is the 'Lottery History' table on the competition page. This shows activity and we do wonder how long that will appear on the site.

Note the competition has been extended again. It was due to close (following an extension) on 28th February but this has now changed to the 4th April. This is apparently the final extension. Enter Competition Here
