Bear Competitions is a low odds prize draw site that offers visitors the chance to win cash, cars and more. Winners are guaranteed for each draw and these are conducted live via Facebook. Ticket prices start as low as 49p! Like McKinney and Bounty, Bear also share the accolade of creating property winners. The most recent of these chose the £250,000 cash alternative as opposed to the available property.

Our Rating |

Established in January 2020 by John Mallon, Bear Competitions - based in Northern Ireland - have grown considerably. They boast over 120,000 followers on Facebook and nearly 120,000 followers on Instagram. Their aim, according to their FB details, is to "offer people the chance to win a dream prize with crazy odds". And they have created a lot of winners! Using the Zap Competitions/Wordpress platform they've given away over £70million in prizes to over 12,000 winners.Amongst those winners are a number of
property prize winners. Unlike their competitors, Bear have tended to look overseas for their property prizes and have offered villas in Spains as well as apartments in Dubai. The site itself isn't that exciting but it's functional across mobile, tablet and desktop.
What Can You Win?
The prize roster varies considerably at Bear Competitions. In the past they've ran giveaways for a Landrover Defender, Dubai Holiday, PS5 Console, Husqvarna Sit-On Landmower and even a New Holland Tractor. At time of writing (June 2025) the site had just five draws running - Dubai Apartment, £10,000 Cash (x2), a Dominican Republic Holiday and a Ninja Bundle. Prices range from £1.99 up to just under £20. Each prize draw has a limited number of tickets available and a set closing date. It does seem that Bear Competitions concentrates on getting sales for just a handful of promotions as opposed to trying to run 30/40 giveaways at one time. They do have instant wins tied up with the latest round of the Dubai apartment draw and the low odds cash prizes are automated draws.
How To Enter Bear Competitions
To enter a competition you need to answer a multiple choice question. You're not told whether your answer is correct or not so Google is your friend if you're stuck. However the questions aren't particularly difficult (e.g. What colour means stop at traffic lights?). After selecting an answer you then select the number of tickets that you wish to purchase. You may need to login if a returning customer or a register if you're new. Payment is via debit cards. If sufficient tickets are sold by the closing date then the draw takes place. Bear Competitions claim in their FAQ that they've never pushed back a timer as tickets usually sell well, but the option is there if required. A no purchase necessary postal route is linked on each giveaway.
Bear Competitions Winners
Winners of the prize draws at Bear Competitions are chosen using a Google random number generator. This is all done via live stream on all social media pages. Click through to Bear Competitions and you'll find over 30 pages of winners listed on their site. Only details of the winner and winning number are provided. There are no links to entry lists or the
live feeds for the respective draws. Whilst these aren't necessary we do think that it creates a greater air of transparency and makes it easier to check back on results. The winners are mainly from Northern Ireland but there are UK and Ireland winners too. There is a section for Entry Lists on Bear Competitions but this is empty - we wonder whether it's simply a holding ground for competitions that are about to be drawn? Some of the winner entries are odd with some showing just a winning number and no name.
Responsible Play & Other Reviews
Like many of their peers in the competition sector there's no obvious mention of responsible play. Whilst they don't necessarily have to do this we'd like to think that market leaders would take the initiative. As far as we can see there's nothing obvious regarding deposit limits, cooling off periods or account closures. A link to Trustpilot doesn't appear on the site either but they do have reviews on that platform. Their rating of 3.1/5 is quite low compared to others thanks to several disgruntled 1* comments. Not processing postcard entries is flagged up a few times whilst one reviewer seems to have got lost and has complained that there's no real chef at The Bear Berkeswell. Not only is this quite funny in the context of a competitions site it also shows that Trustpilot relies too heavily on AI when it comes to screening.
Our Verdict
Bear Competitions say that they "want to offer people the chance to win a dream prize experience with crazy low odds". Given that they've dished out over £70million+ in prizes they're definitely fulfilling that brief. Compared to other sites they don't have as many prize draws running at the same time. We like the fact that Bear do try and offer something slightly different - we've only seen a couple of sites that have offered a tractor or truck as a prize. The large number of Northern Ireland winners may put off some entrants but according to Bear this is because most of their players are from there which makes sense. As far as we can see there are no gamble aware notices or information about sensible play so that is something we'd like to see added to the site. The reviews regarding not processing postal entries are multiple. We'd love to hear from you if your postal entries have been accepted.
