About Elite Competitions

Hydro Solutions Fylde Ltd are the company behind Elite Competitions. Since they launched in 2015 they - according to their Facebook about us details - have given away over £50 Million in prizes to over 11,500 people. They offer entrants the chance to win a variety of prizes including cars, gadgets and cash. At time of writing (April 2023) they had around a dozen prize draws running including Insta Win competitions and a free to enter £1000 prize draw. Interestingly it does seem that Elite are pushing the InstaWin section a lot more perhaps because it generates more interest? Since we first reviewed Elite they've gone on to successfully create house winners and have also given away a £500,000 cash prizes.

How To Enter Elite Competitions

To enter a prize draw at the site you need to first be registered and logged in to your Elite Competitions account. After you've selected the prize competition that you wish to participate you will need to then select your tickets by either picking your own or using the Lucky Dip option. Complete your entry by making the appropriate payment. Each competition has a limited number of tickets and the competition closes when all are sold. If all of the tickets have not sold after the first extended time period, a 7 day extension will be added up to a maximum of 4 times. In the event that not all the tickets have been sold after all the extensions then a cash prize will be awarded. This cash prize will equate to 70% of tickets sales.

NPN Route

A free no purchase necessary option is available for all competitions. However details of how to enter are buried deep down in the terms and conditions. Find item 16 in the terms for the details. Note that you still need a registered account to enter via the NPN route. Given that some draws can sell out very quickly we do wonder whether the NPN route is worthwhile for some of the giveaways. However when it comes to some of the more expensive prize draws then it's well worth a consideration. A first class stamp might not be a good investment for a £1.50 prize draw but for the more expensive tickets it might be worth a go.

Elite Competitions Winners

Winners are selected in live draws which are very similar to lottery number draws. Elite Competitions have their own Bernie, a random number generator, which picks a letter and number to correspond to the winning ticket. All the videos for all previous draws are online. Elite Competitions have created a lot of winners and images of can be seen. However in a random selection of "view winner video" selections we didn't see one video other than the site's placeholder video. In our view everything with respect to selecting winners is transparent.

Our Verdict

Elite Competitions aims to be The UK's Number One prize competitions service and they seem to be doing a lot of things right. They have over 215,000 followers on social media and plenty of winners. According to their social media posts many competitions sell out incredibly quickly. We like the live draws and Bernie number generator but the website could be better. The NPN route could be clearer and the winners page made easier to view. As far as we can tell each entrant can have up to 250 entries per competition. Although there are no obvious responsible play messages on the site there is a link to Gamcare which is good but doesn't help a player who may wish to self-exclude. In short the messaging could be better.
