Recently, Harvester ran a competition and invited entrants to come up with their next Super Sundae. The competition closed on the 13th August, but the votes have been counted and verified and the winner has been announced as Pauline Kelly. Her creation of the Chocolate Cookie Dough Sundae attracted the most votes. According to Harvester the voting attracted 5000 votes.
The competition attracted 700 entries, with 5 being selected to go to a public vote. The shortlisted entries were Chocolate Orange Heaven, Give Me S’more Sundae, Going for Gold!, After We’ve Eight Sundae and Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Sundae. Some kind of chocolate theme going on there then!
By the way, we know that the video featured though doesn’t show a Chocolate Cookie Dough Sundae. It does show Egg and Bacon ice cream at The Fat Duck as we wanted to get something ice cream and duck related into the blog post and that’s the best we could do!
Maybe we need to come up with a Loquax duck inspired sundae?
Anyway, the winning sundae, which you can buy at your local Harvester from 14th October, will contain cookie dough pieces, chocolate fudge pieces, Belgian chocolate sauce and Cornish vanilla ice-cream.
The winner gets two free main meals every month for a year.. which we hope means that it’s a decent full meal, including wine and sundaes, otherwise it sounds a bit tight. Especially as Harvester will be making a few quid off their new Super Sundae.
