Walk In The Footsteps Of Hobbits (Maybe)

Posted on: October 12th, 2012 by Jason

If you’re looking forward to movie release of The Hobbit because you yearn to see Middle Earth (well New Zealand) for yourself then we’ve got a great competition to tell you about. Air New Zealand are giving you the chance to experience walking the nine Great Walks of the country. Ok, you might not get to see Hobbits or tread their path but it’s a prize of a lifetime… as long as you don’t mind walking a lot!

To enter the competition you need tell them why you deserve to win a place on this wild adventure. On top of that you also need to create a video that reflects your personality, skills and creativity. If you’re not keen on that part of the competition then you can opt to do a Pinterest board instead.

The best entries will be wittled down – according to the site the finalists will be selected based on personality, creativity and skills that could be useful for the trip. A judging panel will then choose four lucky winners to go on a trip of a lifetime.

The walking holiday lasts for 9 weeks and you’ll be walking the Abel Tasman Coast Track, Heaphy Track, Kepler Track, Lake Waikaremoana Track, Milford Track, Rakiura Track, Routeburn Track, Tongariro Northern Circuit and the Whanganui Journey. It goes without saying that you need to be fit and probably like walking!

You’ll also be asked to blog about your trip – which is why they’re looking for a bit of personality and character! That’s something to consider when you put your entry together.

This competition is open worldwide (terms apply) and you have until 21st October to get your entry. The closing date is actually 5pm on 22nd October – but that’s New Zealand time, so aim to get an entry in asap.
