McKinney Competitions Review

McKinney Competitions are one of the UK's leading pay to enter prize draw sites and have given away over £65million in prizes since launching in March 20202. Their prizes include cars, cash and even property in Portugal, Spain, Ireland and The UK. They're not always the cheapest when it comes to tickets but this doesn't seem to stop them being able to successfully sell out their draws.

McKinney Competitions

McKinney Competitions are owned by Top Gear Autos NI LTD and they launched in March 2020. They're based in Dungannon but also have offices in London and Dublin. They say that they are "the UK and Ireland's leading competition company" but beyond that there's not much information about them on social media or their own website. We first learnt about them when they hosted their first property competition and gave away a 3 Bed Apartment in Belfast. This competition sold all of it's 6997 tickets in just a few days despite the price of £99.97. Their prize draws are hosted on a bespoke platform and it works well on all devices including desktop. As far as we're aware though there's no app available via either Apple or Android stores.

What Prizes Can I Win?

Since we wrote our original review of McKinney Competitions they've hosted over 30 different property prize draws. At time of writing (June 2025) they were offering the chance to win a Spanish Villa or £300,000 cash. Property however isn't the main focus for the platform. Cars, cash, holidays, tech and vouchers are all amongst the goodies you can win. The cars listed on McKinney Competitions include a 2023 Suzuki Jimny Allgrip, a 2023 VW Golf R 2.0 TSI 4Motion, a BMW X5 30D M-Sport or £25,000, a 2025 Elddis Autoquest 150, a Ford Ranger Wildtrak 4x4 and our favorite, a 1998 Purple Rover Mini Cooper. Holidays are unusual for a prize draw site but McKinney are happy to whisk you off to Dubai and Orlando for a holiday of a lifetime. Other prizes include Ninja Grill, Ride on Mower, Drone a Playstation 5. Ticket prices range from 49p to £10 but we have seen some property prize draws as high as £100 a ticket.

How To Enter McKinney Competitions

Each competition page at McKinney gives you details of the prize, number of tickets for sale, number of tickets sold, the maximum tickets you can buy and closing date. Their pages are some of the most detailed which is good. To enter a prize draw at McKinney Competitions you first need to answer a multiple choice question. As is usual you're not told whether the answer you select is right or wrong - so make sure you're right before going on to pay. You probably won't struggle with the questions though because they're along the lines of "What do Apple Make?" and you have the choice of iPad, biscuit and jam. Once you've chosen an answer it's simply a case of selecting how many tickets you want to buy and completing the purchase. Discounts are usually available for bulk buys as well as early birds. You will be be required to register/login to take part. McKinney do provide a postal entry route and this is linked on every competition page. Each postal entry requires you to include your details plus the answer to the respective promotion.

Winners At McKinney Competitions

Winners are selected using a random number generator and the draws are conducted via live streams on social media. McKinney boast an impressive page of winners - also known as Champions - on their site. They provide details about the winner, location and ticket number plus there's also a link to the Youtube live draw. We like that because it provides a good degree of transparency and ties everything together. The bulk of winners do seem to be from Northern Ireland but there are winners from England for example amongst those listed. Like Bear Competitions it's simply because the bulk of their entries will come from their own neck of the woods. Recent winners have picked up a Dyson Airwrap, an Audi Q8, £10000 cash, Garden Bundle and a Swift Voyager. The winners page however is so long that it could do with some pagination and organisation!! Charity has been a big winner at McKinney with over £550,000 made in donations although this isn't well highlighted or celebrated on site.

Responsible Play & Other Reviews

As a leading competition site it's nice to see that McKinney at least reference responsible play. A small notice towards the foot of the page explains that "by accessing this website, you confirm that you are over 18 and understand the risks associated with gambling. If you're underage, please leave now. Gamble responsibly". There's also a link to gambleaware.org! We'd like to see things go further though with a page dedicated to responsible play and advice about tools such as deposit limits if they're available. On Trustpilot McKinney Competitions boasts almost 28,000 reviews with 91% hitting 5 stars. However we do wonder how many of these have been touted for by the site. Negative reviews are a mix of reviewers who haven't won, frustrated by not receiving their tickets or questioning why most winners are from Northern Ireland.

Our Verdict

Any site that can create three property winners by selling expensive tickets in rapid time is worth taking a look at. We've been pretty impressed just how quickly and efficiently McKinney listed, promoted and generated winners for their property giveaways. It just goes to show that raffles can work provided that you have an active participating audience. Since our original review McKinney Competitions have improved their site, make their prices a lot more attractive and added a responsible play message. There's no sign of instant wins here or anything casino related which is another plus point. One thing we'd like to see though is some consistency with pricing. Every giveaway seems to be discounted and the prices on the homepage often vary from those on the competition page.
