After a lot of umming and ahhing the hosts of Forest Side Home have decided to try and raffle their property again. They've explained on Facebook that a sale for the cottage fell through. Since the original competition -
Nottingham Detached Cottage - the owners have launched their own platform Raffique - but the only property contest on their didn't quite work out. So to demonstrate the ability of the platform and hopefully encourage others to use them Forest Side Home is back as a raffle prize. This, again according to Facebook, means that they "can create lots of offers and start off the ticket sales with an early bird price".
About The Property
This was the description from the original competition: the property itself looks quite nice. It has two bedrooms, lounge, dining room and a newly fitted kitchen comprising of wall and based units. Outside is where things really start to look good. It boasts three quarters of an acre with a dropped curb and gated access. According to the owners the area is "ideal for a small pony, goats/sheep". The original Raffall competition also offered a John Deere Ride on Mower but that doesn't seem to be included here. The winner won't have to pay any legal fees or stamp duty as these are all included within the prize.
How To Enter
To purchase a ticket you simply need to visit the competition page, select the number of tickets you wish to purchase and answer a multiple choice question. You aren't told if the answer you've selected is right or wrong so use Google first if you're unsure. At checkout you'll be asked to create an account with Raffique if you've not already got one. Payments are managed with Vivawallet. As far as we can see there are no limits to the number of tickets you can purchase per competition. A free entry postal option can be found in the terms. Tickets cost £10 each but look out for special offers such as the £5 early bird.
65000 Ticket Sales
Forest Side Home hopes to sell 65,000 tickets (total revenue £625,000 - this total includes the first 5000 tickets at £5) by the end of February 2022 in order to conclude the draw. As far as we're aware the closing date will not be extended although it will be brought forward if all tickets sell early. If insufficient tickets are sold then the winners will receive a share of the compensation amounting to 90% of all ticket sales. In comparison the Raffall competition aimed to sell 200,000 x £2 tickets (total revenue £400,000) with 118,595 actually being sold.
Our Verdict
The first house competition on Raffique (2 Bed Village Home) just didn't work out and that may be more down to the property/marketing rather than the actual platform. So we're pleased to see Raffique try again with property raffles and it makes sense to use their own home to demonstrate their platform capabilities. If this works out then they've got a firm footing going forward which may encourage others to follow suit. However to date no property that has previously been raffled has gone on to be successful so there's a huge mountain to climb. The owners need to convince previous buyers to try again and convince entrants that their own platform is worthy of consideration over more established services like Raffall.
