Apps Every Comper Needs To Download

When Loquax first started the only place you’d find an online prize draw or competition was on a website. Fast forward to 2024 and we’ve got Tiktok, X/Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Pay To Enter and whole bunch of weird and wonderful ways to find and enter giveaways. Mobile apps are another good source of prizes but it’s not an area we’ve really ever delved into. I don’t know about you but my mobile is chockablock with various apps but other than the obvious social media ones I don’t tend to bother with any others unless it involves buying a drink at Costa or parking the car. However that does mean potentially missing out on a few prize opportunities and it’s actually Costa that’s been the catalyst for this blog post. They’ve just launched their festival ticket giveaway and whilst the entry form is actually a website one you do need to have the app. So below are a bunch of useful apps that you might want to add to your collection. Note that these are in no particular order and the list will be updated and amended as and when someone remembers to do it!!

1. Costa Coffee App

The catalyst for this blog and the one app I tend to use more than any outside social media. By the way we’re taking it as red that you use Facebook etc. Anyway Costa app holders can get various rewards as and when they use the app when buying drinks in store or via a machine. However until June 23rd 2024 you can also win the ultimate festival experience. Login to the app and click through the link (headlined with an on orange Boardmasters image) and enter the draw. On offer are tickets for events such as KISSTORY on Blackheath, Brighton Pride, Boardmasters & CarFest. Costa aren’t that frequent with giveaways though but you may also pick up discounts on drinks, pastries etc.

2. The Great British Raffle

Login to The Great British Raffle each day to earn tickets for the chance to win cash prizes up to £50 (although they’re more usually £10). You earn tickets by watching or listening to adverts plus you can also get benefits by referring friends. If your referral wins then you win as well. Of course we’d love you to sign up using our link here but it’s up to you. The app did use to feature games like Sudoku but the development team only included them to try and get listed on the App Store.

3. JamDoughnut

JamDoughnut is a cashback site that allows you to purchase vouchers for brands such as Sainsbury’s M&S, Virgin Experience Days, Miller & Carter and many more. Unlike Quidco where you click a link, make a purchase and then get cashback, with JamDoughnut you purchase a voucher first, use that to then make a purchase, but get cashback on the voucher purchase. If you sign up and fancy adding a referral code then WXFJ is the Loquax one. Now the interesting thing about this app is that every Monday to Friday at 1pm you have the chance to win prizes. Just login and watch the livestream for the chance to win up to £100. Occasionally they host special prize events and feature influencers. The only negative about them is we’ve contacted them three times now about their affiliate program and never had one reply. Ah well!

4. EverUp

Everup is another buy vouchers and earn cashback app. Simply pick the vouchers that you wish to purchase and then get cashback on the voucher amount. Brands include Adidas, Amazon, Argos, Boots, Currys, John Lewis and Starbucks. It does seem that Everup have a more extensive choice of merchants than JamDoughnut? In addition they also have free games which give you the chance to win prizes. There’s a Daily Raffle, Million Lotto, Minigames and Scratchcards. The Minigames are all wheel of fortune style plays and you do need coins to play but you can win coins with free games like London and Monte Carlo. By the way Million Lotto is a gimmick as the odds of winning are 600million to 1. However you might have fun logging in daily and trying the other games.

5. Coca Cola

If you like games and prizes then the Coca Cola app is a must. Coca Cola run regular promotions with their brands like Diet Coke and Fanta and more often than not there’s an app element. Some of the giveaways within the app are free to enter but others require you to spend points. Points can be earnt by playing the various games or by scanning barcodes from purchases of selected drinks. The games themselves are quite simple and provided you get a decent score will always help you pick up points. For example the Diet Coke Fashion Crush game is a gems style game where you need to match items on the grid. Note that game plays are limited daily as is the maximum number of points that you can collect. However you should always be able to pick up enough to enter the current giveaways.

6. SuperSavvy

SuperSavvy is an app from Procter & Gamble. It features popular products such as Venus, Flash, Fairy, Ariel, Always, Olay and many many more. Once downloaded you can login and gain access to offers and product trials although these can also be accessed on the desktop site. If you’re an influencer type then you’ll probably get more benefit from this app than the average comper. For example at time of writing (June 2024) SuperSavvy were looking for TikTok or Instagram Stars heading to the Taylor Swift Concert plus people willing to try Viakal Classic Limescale Remover Spray and post about it online. It’s worth a look but it’s a bit of a lottery as to whether you get selected for the trial offers.

7. McDonalds & Burger King

If you’re a regular to any food and/or drinks establishment then apps can carry rewards like free drinks or discounts. Even independents use loyalty apps like Squid so don’t ignore them. McDonald’s and Burger King both have apps where you can make orders and pick up rewards but they also like to run promotions through them. Surprize Fries, Monopoly and Winning Sips all run via the McDonald’s app. Burger King are probably less prolific when it comes to giveaways but at time of writing (June 2024) they were about to giveaway 100s of prizes as part of a Coca Cola Zero x UEFA Euro 2024 promotion.

8. Litterlotto

The thing about fast food restuarants is that they seem to cause a lot of littering. This can be a positive though because compers might be able to womble a few bonus codes for prize draws such as Surprize Fries or Monopoly but also potentially win some cash by litter picking. All you need to do is download the Litterlotto app and then upload pictures of your binning litter activities. Each month there’s a jackpot prize but Litterlotto do say that they dish out spot prizes and instant wins. There’s no limit to the number of entries you make and the great thing is that your efforts are making the world a tidier place for everyone.

Let Us Know Your Views

The above is just a selection of apps that we know of that offer you the chance to win prizes. Lidl and M&S are two possible additions in the future. The latter is a good one for advent giveaways whilst Lidl is useful for the occasional freebie or two thanks to their wheel of fortune style offer. If you know of any apps that we should include in the above list then do let us know. Also do feel free to leave a comment regarding any experiences you’ve had – good or bad – with the above. We’d love to hear from you.
