Can you believe that advent season is almost upon us yet again? If you’re new to comping this time is when the number of daily competitions usually goes through the roof. It can get a tad hectic. For obvious reasons we’re not sure whether this year – which will be our 22nd – will be a quieter advent or a busier one. Either way our usual advent comping tools will be in play. This means daily tracking and options to ignore individual comps, types of prizes and types of comps too. In the meantime make sure you bookmark Loquax Advents. If advent is a busy time then we do need user input more than ever. Whilst we do have a brilliant number of contributors it’s noticeable that it’s always the same people who help out every week. Without those users they’d be no Loquax listings. So please try and make it an early resolution to post a few competitions – especially around advent – as the more who get posting the easier it is for everyone and the better the community spirit.
Win A £3Million House
It’s been a busy time in the win a house department with quite a few competitions closing or about to close. Amongst these is Omaze’s £1million property draw which guarantees a winner. The same company have also launched a £3million property draw which has a no purchase necessary route. The prize is also guaranteed for that competition too. Other prize draws in this section that are worthy of note are: Raffle House are giving you the chance to win a £750,000 two bedroomed property in the Lambeth area of London. Additionally there are chances to win lifestyle prizes – such as a BMW and holiday to Antigua – plus a £1000 cash prize. This one is set to close at the end of November.
A flat in Kentish Town valued at £500,000 is the prize offered by Win My Dream Home. They are supporting Great Ormond Street Hospital and what we like about this competition is it’s very transparent and up to date with the status of the promotion. It is currently set to close at the end of the year. Note that both Raffle House and Win My Dream Home do offer NPN options.
Loquax Options
As mentioned above, Loquax lets users hide competitions by type and prize. Recently we’ve updated the type options so that you can now hide any competitions from ‘raffle’ and ‘gambling’ sites that may appear on the listings. To edit your options simply go to Edit Loquax Options and make your selections by ticking the boxes. Then submit. When you then visit the listings your selections will be omitted. Note that this doesn’t apply to forum posts. To undo your selections it’s just a case of unticking the boxes.
As well as listing options we’ve also made some fixes to the Loquax User Profile options. You can now add your Instagram links plus you – and visitors to your page – can quickly access competitions you’ve posted to the site. Tweaks to the site will be ongoing and all changes will be announced on the forums.
Win A Cadbury Advent Calendar
You might have noticed we’ve made some changes to our own prize draws. We’ve now dropped Gleam for a different set-up. It’s very similar but you can login with email or Facebook. The prizes are as ever lots of fun and an eclectic mix of goodies. As usual there are six Loquax prize draws for you to enter and the prizes on offer are as follows:

It’s Christmas
We know – there’s a lot of festive stuff in this newsletter but now Costa have launched their drinks and the John Lewis advert is on its way you can’t avoid it. And you shouldn’t avoid the growing list of prizes in the Christmas Prizes section. A quick scan through the listings we can see quite a few advent calendar prizes – including some gin ones – and a couple of hampers. Hopefully next year there’ll be a lot more opportunity to travel and even better if you can travel with a win. If you’re dreaming of far away places then do watch Michael Palin’s Travels Of A Lifetime on iPlayer. Then drop in on the Holidays section and enter a few competitions.
